noise

I have packed my bag and gathered my papers. I have printed out my itenerary (why can't I spell that word?) and put my toilletries in a pile. I have gathered Iz's clothes and taken the essentials out of her diper bag to put in the backpack. I put my little handheld things on their chargers and sat down to catch my breath.

And then I heard a noise.

It sounded like water running. I heard it clearly in the upstairs bathroom, but there was no obvious running in there. I didn't hear it in our bathroom. I went downstairs, thinking the downstairs toilet was to blame (hello, just fixed the leaky toilet remember?) but the noise was still going after the toilet was flushed and turned off. I found the culprit kind of, the noise was coming from a pvc pipe in the room with the hot water heater, though not noticably connected to the hot water heater. It turns on, run (or drains) a bit, then turns off again, cycling every couple of minutes. What is actually running and/or draining is still not obvious. After all the toilets were turned off and every where else that could be leaking checked and double checked, we have concluded it is most likely the hot water heater, draining water out, then refilling every couple of minutes. We can't leave the house with a leak going on somewhere so plumbers must be called and called quickly.

Nothing is ever easy.
